Short answer. Add
2b2t.orgin Java Edition on version 1.21.4 or newer, with a paid Microsoft account. You will land in a queue of several hundred; the live tracker shows the number and an estimated wait. Bedrock and offline accounts cannot join, and since December 2025 there are rules.
1. Get an account that can log in
2b2t checks every login against Mojang’s session servers. Offline mode, TLauncher and other cracked launchers are refused at the door with a login error. If you only own Bedrock Edition, the Java server will not accept you either; see the Bedrock page for what is and is not possible. The only ticket in is a Java Edition licence on a Microsoft account.
2. Add the server and pick the right version
In Multiplayer → Add Server, enter the address:

Leave the port at the default 25565. The address resolves through a service record to the actual host, so do not paste a raw IP from a server list; those change and are often clones. How to tell the real server from the fakes.
The server runs 1.21.4 and accepts newer clients through a compatibility layer, so a current release works. Anything older than 1.21.4 is refused. When you add the server, the server list entry shows the accepted range next to the player count.
3. Wait the queue, or don’t
Every join goes through a queue proxy. In the last 30 days the regular line has not dropped below the mid-400s and averaged around 550, which the queue’s own model translates to roughly a day of waiting from the back. Three ways through it:
- Wait. Leave the game open. You are not kicked for idling in the queue, and tools like the 2b2t Queue Scheduler mod can start queuing for you at a set time.
- Buy priority. shop.2b2t.org sells priority queue at $19.99 a month or $53.97 for three months. Priority has its own reserved slots and is usually a handful of people long. It is worth it if you plan to play more than a couple of times a month; otherwise the scheduler mod is the cheaper answer.
- Time it. The queue is shortest in the early morning UTC and briefly resets after a restart. The tracker shows the quietest hours from the last 30 days.
Once in, you have an 8-hour session limit before you are disconnected to the back of the line, and a one-time reconnect window if you drop.
4. Survive spawn
You spawn within a few hundred blocks of 0,0 in an obsidian and lava wasteland that has been mined and griefed for fifteen years. The first hour is about food and distance:
- Move away from spawn in one direction immediately. Every player who logs in appears in the same area, and many are there to kill new players.
- Do not accept teleports, kits or “free items” from strangers in chat. There is no teleport command on 2b2t; anyone offering one is baiting you to coordinates where they are waiting.
- Look for a nether portal early. The nether highways run along the axes at bedrock level and are the fastest way to real distance.
- Expect to die a few times. It costs nothing at spawn.
5. Know the rules, because there are rules now
Griefing, hacking and killing are still allowed. Everything around them is not. Since 19 December 2025 the terms ban hateful or political builds, harassment in-game or on Discord, bots, lag and spam, with permanent bans on the table. A chat filter has been live since January 2026 and profanity is blocked on signs and map art since February. Players who track punishments also document rules against discussing punishments, criticising the admins, and connecting through a VPN. The full list, with sources.

Yes. The queue is free, priority is optional.
What is the seed?
The current seed is not public. Four seeds have been used over the server’s life; the previous one was retired with the 1.19 update in August 2023.
