Pick by what you want. Browsing the archived world in a browser: 2b2t.place. Flying through it in Minecraft and travelling back through its history: wayback.2b2t.place. Looking up a specific base by name: 2b2t Atlas. Renders era by era, top-down or isometric: map.daporkchop.net. There is no live map of 2b2t, whatever some sites claim.

None of these is the map of 2b2t, and that is the thing to understand before clicking. There is no single up-to-date picture of the world, because no one has ever recorded all of it. Why that is.
Which one do you actually want
“What is happening right now?” Nothing shows you that. Every tool here is a recording. The live numbers that exist are player and queue counts, not a map. Those are on the tracker.
“I want to look at the world.” 2b2t.place is the browser option and needs nothing installed. It covers the whole archived square in all three dimensions, down to one pixel per block. Turn on the obsidian layer and the highways appear as bright lines running out from spawn, which is the clearest single picture of how this server is actually shaped. Give the tiles a few seconds; the screen is black while they load.
“I want to walk around in it.” Join wayback.2b2t.place in Minecraft. You get spectator flight over the archive plus the ability to jump between snapshots taken at different dates, which is the only way to watch an area change over time. How to use it.
“I am looking for a particular base.” 2b2t Atlas is a searchable directory of named locations with coordinates, and each entry opens on a map showing where it sits. You search it rather than explore it, so it answers “where is that place I read about” rather than “what is out there”.
“I want the underlying data.” That is the 15 TB archive, and you can take a fraction of it rather than the whole thing. What is in it.
Why none of them cover the whole world
2b2t’s border sits 30 million blocks from spawn in every direction. The largest capture ever made covers a square about a million blocks across, which is roughly 0.03% of that. Everything you can look at is a small, spawn-centred slice, and that is not a limitation of the tools. It is that the rest has mostly never been visited by anyone.
The parts that do exist cluster hard along the axes, because the nether highways are how people travel outward. Those highways now run in obsidian all the way to the Overworld border in all four directions, finished in April 2025. The border, and who reached it.
Tools that no longer work
Worth knowing, because people still search for these and link to them.
- 2b2t.watch and traverse.2b2t.watch are down. They launched in May 2026 with a bot sitting at spawn streaming live map art, players and chat, and were popular for a few weeks. Both now return a server error.
- 2b2t.website and 2b2t.online redirect to an origin that no longer resolves.
- The Fandom wiki for 2b2t has been disabled. The live community wiki is on Miraheze.
- map.jamesrustles.com still loads, but its renders are dated March 2016 and cover only a thousand blocks around spawn. It is a curiosity, not a map.
Two caveats worth having
The wayback server may not reach the full width of the archive. Players have reported empty space past roughly 500,000 blocks out, so the browsable history does not necessarily extend as far as the raw download does.
2b2t Atlas is the most actively developed of these, and also the one to double-check. Its maintainer has said openly that some highway data was bulk-imported from an older site and may describe things that were only ever planned, and that the written descriptions and the matching of bases to groups are generated automatically, so some associations are wrong. It is an excellent index; treat individual claims as a starting point.
A warning about “live” maps
2b2tmaps.lol calls itself a “Live Top-Down Renderer” and displays a chunk count and a recent timestamp. Neither is real. Its own code derives the chunk figure from the dimensions of the image file, and the timestamp is generated from your computer’s clock at the moment the page loads, so it always looks like it updated seconds ago no matter how old the picture is.
What it actually shows is one static image of spawn. That may still be useful, but it is not live and its capture date is not stated anywhere.
